The most modern athletic hall

The athletics hall was put into operation in 2016 and is the most modern athletics hall in the Czech Republic. It is used mainly by athletics clubs, but it also offers possibilities for many other sports activities.

The hall complies with the standards of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), allows year-round training, and meets the conditions for holding athletics competitions and international meetings in the winter indoor season.

The auditorium has a capacity of 1,012 seated spectators and 8 seats are reserved for people with reduced mobility. The athletics sports facilities of the hall consist of a running oval with 6 200-meter tracks, 8 straight 60-meter sprint tracks, sectors for high jump, long jump, pole vault and shot put.

For world leaders and the public

The athletics hall has already been the venue for several Czech Indoor Championships for men and women in athletics. The Czech Indoor Gala international athletics competitions are held every year and other interesting events in many other sports are organized here, such as the Czech Judo Cup, the International Karate Grand Prix, the Moravia Open Taekwondo, the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the national firefighting competitions Ostrava-Beskydy Sixties, the martial arts gala Octagon Fight Club 5 or the Cheerleaders Cup Ostrava.

In 2017, the athletics hall served as a journalistic facility for the European Figure Skating Championships. After the end of the indoor athletics season, the hall is also used for badminton, floorball and the general public.
